AIS skate club information

who:

beginners are welcome! AIS students from grade 2 and up may join skate club. there will also be drop-in lesson times for parents, staff, and others over 20 or with special permission. all participants must bring a signed permission form before using the mini ramp. no one may skate when the ramp is closed or unsupervised.

what:

learn the basics of mini ramp skateboarding, safety, riding, and tricks at your level of ability. learn how to take care of and repair equipment. enjoy creative play and outdoor exercise with friends.

where:

meet at the AIS mini ramp. in the case of rain or other inclement weather there will be no skateclub.

when:

morning recess when we have school days:

  • div 1 and div 2 skate club from 10:50am to 11:15am...please do not be late for class!

how:

if you have your own equipment, please bring it, if you want to share, there may be some extra equipment available. students must wear a helmet and wrist guards and beginners are encouraged to wear all the safety gear. instruction will be given in safety and riding techniques. in case of rain, skate club will be on with alternate activities but drop-in lessons will be cancelled.

why:

skateboarding is a very challenging and rewarding form of creative play and exercise. it is good for balance, confidence, and thinking. let's have fun learning together!
