it is the end of an era...
the school has announced their plans to discontinue most of the elementary classes and levels as of next year. this means that most of our eligible skaters are either graduating or seeking other schools. some will go to marist bros. and we hope they join mr. shitamoto and his skate posse there. thank you to all who made skate club a fun and cool place to be...keep skating and have fun!

on a related note, if anyone is interested in purchasing a slightly used but still rockin' mini-ramp, please contact davej at info@projectskates.com for info.

the latest video is up! check out the media page to see some of the fun we had with the skate kansai open house sessions. have a great summer, hope to see you skimming at the beach!

sunday open house session from 2-4pm, all skaters are welcome, but must have signed AIS core sports permission forms and appropriate gear...come and have fun with the div2 riders or get a "tranny 101" lesson from them, test your skillz against the mighty micro mini ramp, and enjoy our sketchy plywood and gravel death tracks...if it rains, we will reschedule...rumor has it there will be an informal session at nishinomiya hama seaside park on saturday morning...bring your helmet and lots of water, and make friends with the amazing local bmx and mtb riders of 662 trails...

rain has not dampened the skating spirit! we will try for next sunday...in the mean time, try not to get washed away, brush up on those mad tech deck skillz, and get ready for the real thing next week...the older skate club students have fixed, repaired, and replaced all the parts they could, their boards are ready for action now!

inside info confirms rumors of the brand new kobe public skate park opening in october after the repairs to the tollway pillars are complete...come on, let us ride now, we will skate around the construction equipment, promise! ...or...we'll..just go skimboard for the summer...

the first official "skate kansai" was a great success as skaters from marist brothers international school came to skate the mini ramp and meet the AIS core sports skaters...around fifteen skaters, young and old, shredded the mini ramp and the sketchy plywood obstacles while deftly avoiding the hungry gravel below...we had so much fun we plan to do it again, and again! so keep practicing and stay tuned for the next sunday session...a big thanks to mr. shitamoto for organizing his crew and for his inspirationally crazy 360s...see you next week, posse!
